We sent three wines to the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and received three medals! Not just any medals – two golds and one big gold medal!
These coveted and prestigious awards were specifically given to our wines but congratulations go out to our entire team which puts in a lot of hard work, love and expertise in both the vineyards and in the winery led by the chief oenologist Dimitar Petkov!
This year the travelling wine competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles took place in Poreč, Croatia between 12th and 14th of May 2023. All wines were blindly judged by a panel of wine industry experts – buyers, journalists, wine merchants, winemakers… – carefully selected by the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and representing 45 nationalities. Less than 30% of the included wines have been awarded with distinctions.
Zlaten Rozhen’s three wines sent to take part in the competition received gold medals one of which was the Grand Golden Medal.
Here they are:
Sandanski Misket Parallel 41 2022 – the wine which we have been making for 12 years now in search of the perfection of the local variety in the conditions of our terroir.
Cabernet Franc Parallel 41 2019 – the debut of this wine was crowned with a series of awards, with the latest one being of a world level!
And the highest trophy (Grand Gold Medal) went to Cabernet Sauvignon Exclusive Lot 2017. We patiently waited for it to unfold its potential and it performed brilliantly at this worldwide inclusive competition.
Here is why the competition is so important to us:
- Only 87 out of 7500 wines from all over the world have ever received the Grand Gold Medal
- Cabernet Sauvignon Exclusive Lot 2017 is one of only 3 Bulgarian wines to receive Grand Gold Medal
- Those awarded with a Gold Medal are 1124 out of 7500 wines.
